V.A. New Dark Vol. 1 - Pump Up The Jam 2006-2015 (Compiled by Detlef J.)

Pues estoy realmente excitado por la presentación de esta colección, pues creo sinceramente que es excepcionalmente interesante, sobre todo por que este género, después de su boom en los años 80, parecía que había entrado en un letargo, pero no, en los últimos años ha resurgido con fuerza, además aunando magníficamente los viejos sonidos con tendencias mas actuales.

Conocí al amigo Detlef gracias a un par de muy buenas colecciones que publicó Butterboy en su blog con sonidos mas o menos electrónicos que me dejaron impactado, así que contacté con el proponiéndole hacer algo para este blog, a lo cual el respondió con esta gran colección.

Pero bueno, os dejo ya con el amigo Detlef que nos lo explicará un poco:

As a longtime music junkie I always had a strong missionary zeal, which drove me to put my latest discoveries together again and again into mix tapes and later CD's and to force them on everyone who showed the slightest bit of interest - take that! This is how these 4 CD's came about. Out of the desire to show a friend that after long years of slow decline there is now new and diverse life in the underground in the field of dark music between Goth-Rock, Post-Punk, Darkwave, Synthpop, Deathrock.

The beginning of my passion for music was PUNK ... and PUNK was also the starting point of what was to become Goth-Rock ... SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES played their first concert in 1976 at the 100 Club Punk Festival where the SEX PISTOLS also performed ... Unknown Pleasures  in 1979 ... 1980 saw the release of the debut LPs by BAUHAUS and KILLING JOKE and Seventeen Seconds by THE CURE with a much darker sound compared to their debut "Three Imaginary Boys".

If you want an overview of the history of Goth, you should take the excellent Cherry Red compilation SILHOUETTES & STATUES as a starting point! ... it shows how diverse and lively this style of music was ... but that was in the beginning / middle of the eighties of the last century.

Since then my interests have wandered and I was able to discover a lot of different music for myself ... and yet I keep returning to my musical origins to see what is happening there ... and after many years in which the releases of the dark scene between Gothic-Rock, Post-Punk, Darkwave, Synth-Wave and EBM seemed rather uninteresting to me, from around 2010 there were suddenly a multitude of bands whose music strongly reminded me of the early days ... dark but not corny ... some of the actors have a past in the punk / hardcore scene ... others are completely new to the game ... the featured bands come from many different countries united by their passion for the dark ... the 4 CD's should represent this diversity a little and above all they should inspire you to dig deeper ... if you like it, look out for the releases of the featured bands / artists and - if / when this Covid-Shit ends - go out & visit their concerts !!!!

Y como la serie lo merece, en cada parte habrá un video, de los muchos que me ha mandado el amigo Detlef, y con los que me pasé una magnífica tarde. Esta vez, y barriendo para casa, tenemos a los barceloneses "•Y•", ¿vaya nombre extraño para un grupo!

Solo me resta agradecer al amigo Detlef este magnífico trabajo, y como creo que esta serie merece una especial atención, iré publicando los cuatro volúmenes en cuatro días consecutivos. Así que hasta mañana, no faltéis, que esto es canela fina.
